1.1 Identity of the Data Controller

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR“) and applicable data protection law, your personal data is processed by ZK Network Ltd. (“Karay Education“, “we”, “us”) acting as data controller, as described below.

Data Controller: ZK Network Ltd. (trading as Karay Education) Website: karayeducation.ca Email: info@karayeducation.ca

1.2 Personal Data We Process

Depending on how you use our services, we may process the following categories of personal data:

  • Identity and contact information: full name, date of birth, phone number, email address, city of residence.
  • Consultation request information: the content of messages you submit through our contact/consultation form, and the program you’re interested in.
  • Student and parent/guardian information (if you become a client): identity details of the student and parent/legal guardian, passport information, academic records, and family information required for custodianship arrangements.
  • Visa and travel information: information required to process a student visa application, arrange travel, and coordinate accommodation.
  • Financial information: information required to track payments for tuition and accommodation fees (we do not store your card details; payments are processed through the relevant school’s or institution’s own payment systems).
  • Digital data: IP address, browser information, and site-usage data collected via cookies (see our Cookie Policy).

Data relating to minor students is processed only with the knowledge and explicit consent of a parent or legal guardian, and solely for the purpose of the education and visa application process.

1.3 Purposes of Processing

We process your personal data to:

  • Respond to and follow up on your consultation requests,
  • Identify suitable school/program options and manage the application process,
  • Prepare and submit applications to our partner, TAIE International Institute, and relevant Canadian educational institutions,
  • Track and support the student visa application process, including correspondence with relevant authorities,
  • Arrange accommodation and travel,
  • Fulfil obligations under our service agreement, including invoicing,
  • Comply with our legal obligations and, where necessary, establish or defend legal claims.

1.4 Legal Basis for Processing

We rely on the following legal bases under Article 6 GDPR:

  • Consent — where you have given clear consent for us to process your data for a specific purpose.
  • Contract — where processing is necessary to perform the consulting services you’ve requested.
  • Legal obligation — where processing is required by law (e.g., visa and immigration-related recordkeeping).
  • Legitimate interests — where processing is necessary for our legitimate business interests, provided these do not override your rights.

1.5 How We Collect Your Data

We collect your personal data through our website’s contact/consultation forms, email, phone, and in-person meetings, in both electronic and physical form.

1.6 Data Sharing and International Transfers

We share your personal data, strictly limited to the purposes above, with:

  • Our partner, TAIE International Institute, and the Canadian universities, colleges, or high schools you apply to,
  • Canadian immigration authorities and, where relevant, third-party visa consultants, as part of your student visa process,
  • Public authorities, where legally required,
  • Service providers who support our operations (e.g., website hosting, email providers), strictly to the extent necessary.

Because our services relate to studying in Canada, your data will necessarily be transferred outside the EEA/UK, including to Canada. We take reasonable steps to ensure such transfers are made on an appropriate legal basis. We never sell or rent your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes.

1.7 Your Rights

If data protection law applicable to you (such as the GDPR) grants you these rights, you may:

  1. Request confirmation of whether we process your personal data,
  2. Request access to your personal data,
  3. Request rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data,
  4. Request erasure of your data, subject to legal retention requirements,
  5. Request restriction of processing in certain circumstances,
  6. Request data portability,
  7. Object to processing based on legitimate interests,
  8. Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal,
  9. Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

1.8 How to Exercise Your Rights

To exercise any of the above rights, please contact us at info@karayeducation.ca, together with proof of your identity. We will respond to your request within the timeframe required by applicable law (generally within 30 days).
